MISSIONS AND SERVICE
Missions
- GREAT JOB MOUNT ZION! Your generosity towards Haiti relief provided much needed monetary help as well as 86 health kits!
- As part of the United Methodist Church Mt. Zion supports national and global mission projects by paying 100 percent of our apportionments. By joining with our brothers and sisters in Christ throughout our denomination we are able to impact the world around us far more than any of us could alone. Learn more about this important part of faithful stewardship and risk-taking mission.
- Mt. Zion supports The Second Mile Club. The work of this ministry, an extension of the District Board of Missions, is to assist the smaller churches in our district. Members have the personal joy of going beyond support of the local church to help churches in need. Projects have included structural repairs, parking lots and new building construction. Mt. Zion was a recipient of the generosity of The Second Mile Club in 2000 when we built our own fellowship hall. ...if anyone would have you go one mile, go with them two miles Matt. 5:41
SERVICE
- Please consider signing up to serve our youth a snack supper for Wednesday fellowship. We share this responsibility with Golden Rule
Presbyterian and only two weeks each month are asked of Mt. Zion members. The supper is a quick and easy way for you to share God's love with the youth of our community. Sign up sheet is located in Friendship Foyer.
- If your child is interested in serving as an acolyte during our morning service please contact Bro. David or Sandra Horton to volunteer. Acolytes serve a special role in each service bringing in the Light of Christ. Your service in this ministry is a reminder that we as believers are to carry Christ's Light within us.
